HISTORICAL LAND MARKERS & MEDALLION 


The museum is also know for its Historical Land markers and medallion:

                           • 1963 - The Texas State Historical Survey Committee (SHSC) awarded 
                                                  an official historical building medallion,

                           • 1964 - Orient Hotel - Recorded Texas Historical Landmark,
                           • 1966 - Spanish Explorers SHSC,
                           • 1967 - Reeves County Pecos Texas SHSC,
                           • 1968 - Mrs. Lillie Cole SHSC,
                           • 1970 - The Pecos Cantaloupe SHSC,
                           • 1972 - Emigrants Crossing SHSC.

The building now belongs to the West of the Pecos Museum, Inc.

It is recognized nationally and internationally as one of the most complete historical museums of present day.
